The Charles Street Centre is a Pupil Referral Unit and is part of Kent's Behaviour Support Service.
The Centre is a Key Stage 4 provision supporting secondary school pupils in the West Kent Area who have emotional and / or behavioural difficulties. It offers a curriculum specifically designed to assist this client group into either further education, training or employment.
The aim is to build self-confidence in pupils enabling them to develop feelings of self worth. This in turn will help them to gain knowledge and skills relevant to life in a fast changing world. Pupils are encourages to maximise their potential.
A working environment is provided which is supportive, encourages positive relationships and emphasizes the differences between acceptable and unacceptable responses. The aim of the Centre is to improve pupils standards and attainments, to help them with study skills and techniques, and to provide them with a wide range of cultural experiences.
